A few days back at night, after office, my weary self was aching for slumber yet the ‘nishachar’ in me refused to relent. So there I was in front of the idiot box sitting listlessly (as usual), watching reruns of the Full House for the n-th time. Just then Michelle (played by the now grown-up Olson sisters) condescendingly told her Uncle Jessie after one of his regular goof ups, ‘Oh you commited a booboo’.
That’s when I sat up, why hadn’t I heard this one before…anyways time to consult my best friend, my little Dictionary (with my kinda vocab its an absolute necessity!).
Booboo (US origin)…hmm …quite an interesting word isn’t it?
The definition on dictionary.com says booboo means-
1. A stupid mistake; a blunder
2. A slight physical injury, such as a scratch
Though I hate how the Americans in an attempt to simplify the English Language have spoilt it with their own spellings, and pronounciations. But yes they have definitely given a different flavour to the language with some nice funky words that give a more relaxed eased out feel to an otherwise formal language (even the abusives of British English origin sound like salutations!)
Coming back to the word, cute little thing isn’t it (or may be I am the only one who thinks so…whatever). But imagine you are embarrassed and in a really sticky situation after a mess up and somebody tells you…‘Oh that was a booboo’; would ease the pain a bit wont it? :D. Even if it doesn’t I love the word:-)
…and I have this feeling that this post of mine is a booboo too :p

The Americans must be given a lot of credit for such brilliant use of the 'F' word in the language as well. They can express literally every emotion with that one single word.Surprisingly though the word itself has its origin in german. For instance- you are doin a f***in great job with these blogs you know.American as it gets.(I still love it the british way though).
well..dont you think using the same word for expressing every emotion shows what dim-wits they are, rather than their brilliance?
I actually came here from your comment about "the final solution" in another blog. So this in a sense is a comment of a comment.
First of all am an athiest so that god crap does not cut ice with me. We have developed a shabby and easier way of escapades by blaming no-one and leaving matters to His majesty (if at all there is one). There is no such entity like God (my point of view), and yes despite the fact that we are responsible for all the ills its just we. You, me or any other god-follower or stupid is equally responsible for the ills. Rather than praising an entity whose presence is doubted (atleast by me for sure) for "giving" us earth, we should work towards the betterment of what we can salvage and leave "god" to "creating" other earths whose people are maybe more humane than our ancestors were.
And nopes Gujrat never emerged stronger. The gradual decline of maharashtra ensured that gujrat won that stupid contest. Dont even ask about the authenticity of the claims by these tabloids. They are as bad as their rankings of colleges. FII infloes in gujrat actually slowed and investors backed off from any major projects. As far as prosperous atate goes, then let me remind you that America is far more properous, but you still seem to think they are "dim-wits" (which I can vouch, they are not).
That KARMA stuff is too painful for me (and for most it is). In simpler terms, I do not believe that "god" or some entity will punish the scounderals. We have to take the initiative and punish the rascals. In fact it is only this "god will take care" ideology that has put us in peril. Because we never gave importance to things that matter , we are facing all the problems like global warming et al that you listed. If we let these fanatics go scott-free we will add another potentially dangerous problem to our list. And yes your "god" has never cared and will never care for such things. We have to do them ourselves or else face the consequences and keep our hopes hinged on HIS MAJESTY.
P.S. I think you should watch the video and (in a lighter tone) join "athiest" on orkut.
